The procedures For trouble-shooting |
| 1. Breakage Before replace it, check it to see if the glow plug has been wired properly. Check with a tester also to see if any more than the rated voltage is being applied to it. |
| 2. Short-circuits or Resultant breakage Repair any shorted parts of the wiring before replacement. |
| 3. Faulty starting Remove glow plugs and apply a rated voltage to check for heating (In most cases, bad starting may be due to other causes.) |
| 4. Bent glow elements or brokage In replace of a new plug. also checking engine for timing or excess of fuel injection etc. 5.Bulging glow tubes (Sheathed types) Replace with a new glow plug. |
